About this product
Chicken can provide your dog with an excellent source of vitamin-rich, lean protein. Rich in essential amino acids, chicken is also an excellent source of glucosamine. So chicken is good for your dog’s skin and coat and also benefits its bone health. Ready to make these chicken recipes for dogs?
While chicken is a staple in commercial dog foods, it should not be confused with the chicken in these chicken recipes for dogs. These recipes use fresh, unprocessed chicken. Extra lean chicken breast and nutrient-packed chicken thigh. While chicken breast is leaner, chicken thigh is slightly fattier but much more nutrient dense. Chicken thigh is the chicken of choice of celebrity chefs and gourmet dogs everywhere!
Chicken in homemade dog food is also so versatile. We’ve already touched on breast and thigh, but you can also buy chicken mince or buy a whole chicken, cook it and strip off every bit of meat for your dog. Don’t ever give your dog cooked chicken bones however. These are a very real choking hazard, particularly for a small dog. Bottom line, never give your dog cooked bones of any kind!
So chicken is great for dogs big and small. An excellent source of low-fat, low-calorie protein. An excellent source of energy for all dogs, and an ideal protein source for any dog needing energy without too many calories. Perfect then if your dog is in need of losing a little weight. (Speaking of losing weight. Check out my weight management section if your dog is in need of shedding a fesw pounds).
Created by the Canine Nutritionist, these chicken recipes for dogs are going down a storm. I recommend you give them a try with your pooch. And while you’re at it, why not download my Homemade Dog Food Made Easy and give some of my other recipes a try as well!
