Good dog health doesn’t come in a bag. It never did and it never will. Anyone who tells you differently is simply not being honest with you.
The reason most dry dog biscuit is so cheap is because it’s made with cheap ingredients. By-products that can include ‘meat derivatives’ (beaks, hooves and feathers), ‘derivatives of vegetable origin’ (cellulose extracted from sawdust), harmful cancer-causing chemicals (butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene and ethoxyquin) with added waste kitchen oil thrown in for good measure. Lovely. Just what your best friend deserves, eh!
It’s piled high (sold in big bags) to make it even cheaper. What the manufacturers don’t tell you is how quickly that dog biscuit spoils once the bag is opened. Unopened, it may have a shelf-life of 18-months, but once opened, oxidization begins to take place. After a couple of weeks, while the biscuit may still look the same, the questionable goodness it once contained is replaced by rancidity, and that rancidity can cause cancer and and other chronic illnesses.
Good dog health doesn’t come in a bag. It never did and it never will. It comes from feeding your dog proper food – fruit and vegables, meat and fish, seeds and grains, herbs and spices. In other words, it comes from feeding a natural, healthy diet the way dogs have been fed for thousands of years.
