Treat the Cause not the Symptom

by | Dog Health

All too often today, the moment our best friend develops a health issue we phone the vet. On occasions, it’s necessary of course. But in the vast majority of cases, a much simpler solution is staring us in the face.

Well-known American veterinarian Dr Cathy Alinovi has estimated that 80% of the patients who walk through her door could be cured by nutrition alone. She doesn’t believe in simply treating the symptom of a health issue, which is what many vets would do, but in finding and treating the cause of the problem. And all to often today, the cause of the problem is food related!

Ear infections, bladder problems, obesity, diabetes, diarrhea, pancreatitis, allergies, skin and coat problems are amongst many canine health issues which can generally be addressed simply with improved nutrition. That means dumping unhealthy commercial dog food and either making homemade dog food or changing your dog to a raw diet.

So please, don’t put your dog through unwarranted stress and yourself through unecessary expense. Look closely at what you’re putting in your dog’s bowl twice a day. Ask yourself if that looks like appropriate nutrition for your best friend. Ask yourself if that might not be the cause of your pup’s ill health. Because if he or she was fed proper, healthy food, I’d wager you might find yourself living with an altogether happier, healthier dog!

Good dog health begins with good nutrition!

Your dog’s nutrition and health are inextricably linked. You cannot expect a healthy dog if you don’t feed healthy, natural food. So if your dog becomes ill, the first thing you should do is examine its diet. An estimated 80% of canine ailments can be cured with diet alone.
