Let me help you feed your dog well

As a homemade dog food nutritionist, I can help you formulate a healthy, nutritionally complete diet for your constant canine companion.

If you’re looking for a dog nutritionist, you clearly understand the importance of your dog’s nutrition. How diet alone can cure or at least improve most dog health problems.

According to the World Health Organization, “nutrition is a foundation for health and well-being for all, leaving no one behind, and a key element of primary health care, and plays an essential role in prevention.”

The thing is though, that applies to all mammals. Dogs included. If you want your dog to remain healthy, you need to feed it a healthy diet. And a healthy canine diet does not come from a bag of processed dog food. It comes from fresh wholefoods, just the kind of food you and I are encouraged to eat if we too wish to remain in good health.

What dogs used to eat

As a young lad I grew up in a household with 5 sisters and 2 dogs. (No need to ask which I preferred). Two large dogs at that. The thing is though, neither dog knew what the inside of a vets looked like. No one I knew ever took their dog to the vet in those days. It just didn’t happen!

Our dogs ate more or less the same food we ate. Lots and lots of fresh meat. Some cooked, some raw. Lots of fresh vegetables. All cooked. Supplemented with weekly bones from the local butcher and the occasional, very occasional, handful of dog biscuit as it was called back then.

Dog food as such didn’t exist. Okay, it existed, but very few people fed their dogs commercial dog food as a mainstay. It was too expensive.

Every family I knew who had a dog fed their dog the same way my mum fed ours. The offcuts of our meat. The organ meat that we didn’t want. Surplus vegetables and vegetable trimmings and any of our own food that would otherwise have gone to waste.

In essence, that is the way the domestic dog has been fed for thousands of years. Every long-established dog breed became the breed we know and love today on home cooked or raw food. They were bred and improved by enthusiasts and breeders over many centuries on the same kind of food we humans eat today. And, they lived healthier and longer lives than they do today as a result of it!

I make homemade food for my dogs

As a homemade dog food nutritionist I can show you how to feed your dogs the way I feed my own two canine children. The way my mother fed our dogs when my sisters and I were growing up.

Feeding your dog a freshly-prepared homemade diet does not need to be time-consuming and it doesn’t have to be expensive. If you bulk cook as I do, it takes next to no time at all. But it does provide your dog with the best possible nutrition. Within days you’ll notice an improvement in its coat and skin, and you can’t fail to notice the extra excitement at meal times.

Go on, give it a try. Your dog will thank you for it!
