Natural Goodness beats Scientifically Formulated

The common sense way to feed your dog

Long before the introduction of processed dog food and way before scientists decided they knew best how our dogs should be fed, we as pet parents made such decisions. We based them upon handed down knowledge. On our own common sense. And on the ready availability of ingredients, all of which, one way or another, were provided by nature. Since time immemorial, we’ve fed ourselves and our families in much the same way.

You didn’t need to be a canine nutritionist like myself. You instinctively knew what was right and what was wrong for your dog. What on earth happened? Where have we gone wrong ever since?

Genetically modified dog food

Scientists don’t tell us as humans what to eat. We make those decisions for ourselves. We base them on our own personal preferences, the size of our budget and the supply of food available at the time. After all, who needs “scientifically formulated” when we can harness the natural goodness from nature’s ingredients? Besides, “scientifically formulated” sounds a bit too much like “genetically modified” to many people. And don’t scientists have a hand in that as well?

So why then should scientists in the form of animal nutritionists working for large corporate dog food manufacturers tell us what our dogs should and should not eat? We don’t need them to tell us for the reasons already stated. Besides, they, the so-called experts, are actually countenancing giving our dogs highly processed and decidedly unhealthy food on behalf of their employers. All of whom by the way are happy that we feed our dogs on the nutritionally compromised waste products from human food production because it makes them vast amounts of money.

They don’t know our dogs. They don’t care about our dogs. If they did, they would not have sold us the notion that it was okay to give our dogs the same, boring, unhealthy, highly processed food every day for the entirety of their lives!

What healthy dogs look like

Take a look at my own dogs. Meet Marco and his little sister, Ava. Do they look unhappy? Do they look unhealthy? I hardly think they look malnourished, do you?

No? Well they are fed exclusively on homemade dog food and they love it. They love it and they thrive on it. And that’s all down to the ingredients nature has provided me with and what my own experience and common sense tells me they need to continue to be happy and healthy. Not a GMO, an additive, a preservative or a scientist in sight.

I feed my dogs with nature, not science. I make their food with the natural ingredients that nature provides me with. Not with the processed dog food self-serving scientists have created for our dogs in the lab!
