Remember to wash your dog’s food and water bowls regularly. Bacteria build up, even though you may not be able to see it, is potentially harmful, particularly for an elderly dog or a dog suffering ill health.
Stainless steel bowls are best. Bear in mind that plastic degrades over time, and that the inevitable nicks and scratches in a plastic bowl can more easily harbour germs.
In an ideal world, food and water bowls should be washed daily.
