Does Your Dog Get Bored with Food?

If your dog gets bored with food, ask yourself why

Does your dog get bored with food? If so, have you ever asked yourself why? Do you feed your dog kibble? Well there’s your answer. Imagine eating kibble twice a day for the entirety of your life. Wouldn’t you get bored with your food if you were a dog?

Contrary to popular belief, dogs need variety in their diets. Not just for the sake of their health, but for the sake of their sanity too. Because feeding your dog the same food day in, day out, is not only bad for their physical health. It’s bad for their mental health too.

Do you have a dog that appears to have the weight of the whole world on its shoulders? Is your dog not enjoying life they way you think it should? Does your dog have behavioural problems? Well there’s your answer. Chances are, your dog is bored with its food!

Variety is essential for your dog

If you feed your dog kibble, please think about this. If you feed your dog, your best friend remember, twice a day, that’s 730 meals a year. That’s 7,300 meals if your dog lives to the age of 10. If your dog lives to the age of 15, that’s 10,950 meals of exactly the same food. Is it any wonder then that your dog is bored with food?

Aside from the fact that kibble, dry dog food, is inherently unhealthy in any quantity, do you have any idea just how unhealthy it is to eat exactly the same food, day in, day out for the entirety of your life? Your dog’s digestive system is not so different from yours. And trust me, you would be very, very unhealthy indeed if you ate exactly the same food every day of your life.

Variety is essential in your own diet and it is also essential in the diet of your dog. If you want your dog to live a long and healthy life that is.

If you love your dog, and I’m sure you do, please take a long hard look at what you’re feeding it. Does that look like food to you? Real food I mean. Does it look even remotely healthy? Just think about what that is doing to your dog’s digestive system. Imagine what it would do to your digestive system if you were forced to eat it. Trust me. You would be bored with food, you would refuse to eat it and believe me, you would be very, very unhealthy as a result of having to eat it.

Ask yourself why your dog spends so much time at the vet

Next time you take your dog to the vet, ask yourself why your dog spends so much time there. Ask yourself if food might not be the answer to your dog’s health problems. And please don’t ask your vet why your dog is bored with food. Your vet’s limited training in dog nutrition has all been provided by commercial pet food companies. The people who make that awful stuff vet’s recommend for sick dogs.

If your dog is bored with food, ask a dog nutritionist for advice. A canine nutritionist will tell you exactly why your dog is bored with kibble. It’s not healthy, it’s not natural, it doesn’t taste nice, and after eating it for year after year, the chances are it actually causes your dog discomfort when eating it.

Even if you don’t want to make homemade food for your dog, at least vary it with a few fresh ingredients. Consult a canine nutritionist and have them create a more varied diet for your dog. He or she will thank you for it. With an improved coat, better skin condition, fresher breath, greater enthusiasm for life and much, much better behaviour!
