As so often happens, this dog homemade beef recipe started life as a collection of random ingredients. A supermarket offer, a couple of items from the fresh food compartment of our fridge, and a few unusual items foraged from the allotment area of our garden.

Mid July and two things fortuitously coincided. My favourite supermarket had minced beef on offer and thanks to all my wife’s horticultural labours, our garden was bearing fruit in far greater quantities than she and I and our lovely neighbours could possibly eat. The solution? Create a recipe and tickle the taste buds of our dogs with a rather unusual but tantalisingly tasty dish of early summer produce!
Dogs can eat and enjoy a far wider variety of ingredients than most people can possibly imagine. My own dogs positively thrive on variety. Just as well. They get plenty of it.
